Headshot of James Ryder

James Ryder BSc(Hons) BVSc CertAVP DBR MRCVS

Farm animal vet and Partner

James graduated from Bristol University in 2012, and worked in mixed practice in Worcestershire for 18 months before making the move to Garston Farm Vets in Frome to become a farm animal vet. James enjoys the day-to-day variation of being a farm vet out and about and has a keen interest in bovine fertility and reproduction, embryo transfer in particular, as well as lameness treatment and prevention. James has completed a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice and the Diploma in Bovine Reproduction at the University of Liverpool. He became a partner in 2019 having settled down in the area with his wife Amy, an equine vet, and their three children. He can often be seen accompanied on his rounds by his yellow Labrador, Pickles. Outside of work, James is a keen Bath rugby fan and cyclist and enjoys spending his free time with his young family.
